Massage therapy that releases you from the pain, tensions and energies you have outgrown.

Touch.

Touch is what massage and bodywork is about. It is also something that is personal, and much of western medicine doesn't have time for.

If you consider something as simple as holding or shaking hands one might quickly appreciate how personal a massage is to our pschye.

I feel very privileged to be working as a massage therapist, and thus it is my personal goal to create an environment of safety and complete respect.  Other therapists might say that this or that is the way to treat something, in my view, the most effective way is by working within your comfort zone, and only going slightly beyond with your permission ahead of time.

A large part of the trust is you feeling secure.  One issue that comes up is being covered. While many massage techniques work best or only when directly applied to skin, I am more than happy to work with other techniques or styles as needed for your comfort.  For sports type sessions, I ask that you wear sports garments for there is frequently a fair amount of range-of motion, and having to be flawless in draping for this much movement slows the session, so it becomes less efficient time wise. However, I am more than happy to work with you.  I have worked with clients that, having them wear more clothing then they normally have in a massage greatly increased the therapeutic value of the session.

Most people have experienced quality touch as only from two sources: parents and lovers.  As adults, the touch we received as a child is frequently buried deep in our memory. Also, some (way too many) people have been involved in unpleasant or violent touch.

Massage is a balance between quality touch and medical treatment.  The art of the therapist is work at your comfort zone.
