My background

I came to massage therapy thinking it would be a good stepping stone to a Doctorate in Physical Therapy,  but found what my teachers had to offer me far more amazing than I had ever imagined the human body to be.   I came to massage and bodywork with a very strong formal and informal education in physiology and related research.

A person once told me that they found me a curious phenomenon, for my curiosity, desire to understand and compassion are each amongst the greatest that they have met.

My strength in physiology allowed me a resource of security when I was introduced to meridan based shaistu bodywork.  Having the strength in a deep comprehension in the understanding of how western medicine and science sees the body allowed me a chance to actually open my mind and learn to feel the meridans. During my training under Beck Stephens, I first experienced and felt stuff that only exists in a living body.

I have a deep love for physiology (the science of how the body works) and a compassion for the unique person that dwells inside each body. I am proud to be a guide for my clients; a guide in the exploration and release of many causes of chronic aches, pain patterns, and somatic assumptions.

I became a Certified Massage Therapist in June 2006 upon graduating from Boulder College of Massage Therapy. In Dec. 2006, I was awarded an Associates Degree in massage after nearly 1500 hours of direct training. I am proud to have spent nearly all of my internship working with the athletes of the Colorado Rapids Professional Soccer Team (the other hours were spent working with horses).

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arizona in Exercise Physiology, with personal emphasis on body composition analysis theory & research under the direction of Dr. Tmothy Lohman Ph.D

For recreation; I ski, hike and bicycle (mostly road). I have been an avid cyclist for over 20 years, reaching my zenith in ‘93 when I lived and raced (at the amateur level) in Brussels, Belgium. Returning to U.S, I attended the University of Arizona where I became the assistant coach, under Neil Stewart, of the university’s cycling team (‘94-96). In my quiet times I enjoy playing with large-format black & white photography and making, from raw metal tubes, artistic road bicycles.
